Wow it has been over a year since I have been on here. And where did my baby go? He has grown so much this year I can hardly recognize him. The only way I know he is mine is that he keeps calling me "mommy". I wonder when that will stop.
This year he has gone from pre-K to graduation and is now in kindergarten. How does that happen? They grow so fast. He has gone from wanting to be the worlds best soccer player to now taking Tae Kwon Do and wanting to be the best black belt ever. Lets see what else happened this year.
January - wow I cannot remember back that far. Nothing important must have happened except Matthew turning 44. Wow is he old! LOL Timothy had his indoor soccer.
February - Well Timothy turned 5 and celebrated with his closest friends from church, school and the neighborhood at Chuck E Cheese his favorite place. Timothy also was doing his indoor soccer.
March - We celebrated many family birthdays in March. Timothy was still doing his indoor soccer.
April - We celebrated more family birthdays this month. I changed jobs I left the hospital for a smaller company helping develop software for websites to be used by trade show attendees, exhibitors and show organizers. It is quite an interesting and job and it has had its ups and downs. In the beginning I was not sure I made the right decision and was not sure how long I could do it. We will see how long it lasts. Timothy was still doing his indoor soccer. At church we have a Sunday night service. I was asked somewhere early this year to take over the nursery for these services. I stepped up to the plate and enjoy my little kids I get to spend Sunday nights with.
May - Matthew had surgery on his right shoulder. He was out of work for 6 weeks which he liked not working but it drove him nuts not being able to drive or do many things. Timothy graduated from pre-K. We went to his little graduation ceremony. It was so nice and cute. They same some songs and wore caps and gowns. They were so little and cute. Timothy and I also attended a charity event at Brookfield Zoo for Parkinson's disease that was run by a charity that was founded by one of my high school classmates. We had a fun mommy son day together attending the event and then seeing animals throughout the zoo.
June - I started really getting our neighborhood block party planning kicked off. The event was in August but we always have so much planning to do. There were 5 of us on our events committee and we need to plan the event for 200 people! Lots to do. Matthew and I celebrated our sixth anniversary this year. It really does not seem that long though if you ask him he says it seems longer. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad one. My mom and step-dad had an evening with Timothy while we were able to catch and adult movie and have a quiet dinner. It is always weird when there is not someone saying "can we go home now". Some friends of mine received their first child this month through adoption. We are really happy for them. We went to the see the baby get baptized and had a great day together with their whole family during the celebration.
July - Timothy went this month to take an introductory Karate class. He has been taking them at his day care for fun since last fall. He likes it but they do not have uniforms and do tests. He really wants to have a belt and uniform and work towards his black belt. When we left from the class he was not sure if he wanted to. But then by the end of the month he wanted to do it bad. He was still however doing soccer and we have always stated one sport at a time to be able to give it enough time and devotion to be good at it, plus they all cost lots of money. On the 4th we headed for the Plainfield fireworks. This is now an annual even for us since they have all kinds of activities for the kids. You can bring food and drinks and just sit around and enjoy. We were able to spend it with some friends from the neighborhood which was nice for us as well as for Timothy he had some friends to run around and play with. I served on jury duty this month. This is the second time since we have lived here. Funny my husband has not been called. I did not get picked to be on a jury which is a bummer since I think it would be cool to be involved with. Timothy and I had to say "see you soon" to some dear friends of ours from church. They moved out west. Rachael, Josh and Gabe are important to both of us and we will miss seeing them every week. For the past few months we have spent lots of time together helping them pack up their home to move so it was a hard time for Timothy as this was his first close friends that have moved away. Hopefully we will get to Portland to visit them and we will see them when they come back this way to visit.
August - Timothy finished up soccer this month. He has totally decided he does not want to do it anymore and wants to do the karate more. So at the end of the month he got his uniform and has started. He really likes it. He goes two days a week for a half an hour. We had 3 little visitors this month my cousins girls came to stay for the weekend so they could celebrate their anniversary. This was quite a change having 4 kids 5 and under in the house instead of just having one. I have now decided I do not want to do a sibling group adoption. It is too hard having too many come in at the same time. We tried a minor league baseball game and lasted 3 innings before we went home since it was too much. All in all it was a fun weekend for all of them. So much the girls did not want to leave and Timothy now wants to have a little sister. He asks quite often when we are going to be able to adopt so he can have a little brother or sister. Well after the first of the year the application is going in to start the adoption process. We will see if God provides a little sibling for him. We had our neighborhood block party. It went off well, everyone had fun, there was not much to clean up on Sunday morning which is always nice. But boy was I pooped and glad when it was over. I got to go to a women's event at my church were we watched Beth Moore on simulcast. It was a nice day and got to spend it with a great friend Rhonda. Timothy started Kindergarten. He is doing it at his daycare since it is all day there and would have had to spend half the day there anyway if he went to the public school. He seems to like it so far.
September - Labor day weekend we went up to MI to stay at my friends cottage with them. It was nice to spend time with them and enjoy their new little baby. We got up there a day before they did. Daddy and Timothy got some fishing in. Daddy caught a big one and put it back. Timothy caught his first fish. He would not touch it but it is a start he really had fun fishing with daddy. We also spent a time at a beach on Lake Michigan while there and daddy and Timothy got to build some sand castles. They had lots of fun. It was a good weekend for all of us. I did a 5K for Chiari with some friends. It was a nice sunny day and I enjoyed spending some time visiting with them since I do not see them often.
October - It is October that means it is Comer Kids Classic 5K. I have been coordinating the volunteers for the past few months. I am glad this event is here. However I am not happy it was moved up an hour that means we have to be there at 6:30 am in Hyde Park. That is a 50 min ride for us so we have to get up early. It is a family event. My mom volunteered this year. Timothy ran again and really had a lot of fun. He likes to be a big kid and help mommy do her volunteer work. Daddy even helped me too during the chaotic times. Well I think this is the last year coordinating all of the volunteers I am not sure if my husband will let me do it again since it has been so many years now and I am no longer at the hospital. They gave me a plaque for being the volunteer of the year. I think they are trying to beg me to come back next year. We will see. UGH how did we get here so fast. I turned 46 how did that happen??? My parents are in shock I think that they have a child this old and I am not sure how I got this old. Oh well I have to go with it. Timothy had his first test this month for his belt. He moved from a white belt to an orange belt. He really was good and had lots of fun. He now gets class for an hour twice a week. Part of the class is sparing and punching a bag which he likes. I see a punching back in our basement in the near future since he keeps asking daddy for one.
November- wow I cannot believe it is November already. Did I just post a whole years worth of details?? I cannot believe I did that. Well I will post more about this month as it happens I will try and be a better blogger. I aspire to be like my friends Courtney and Roxanne who blog regularly.
Love and Kisses to all!
God Bless
